Voter Laws and Registration Deadlines

You must:

• Be a citizen of the United States
• Be a resident of Hawaii
• Be at least 16 years old (you must be 18 years old by election day in order to vote)
• Not be in jail for a felony conviction
• Not be “non compos mentis”
• Not be adjudicated mentally incompetent
• PHOTO ID NOMINALLY REQUIRED — voters without photo ID merely have to give date of birth and home address that corroborates information listed for them on the voter registration roll.
• Early Voting in Person or by Mail

Registration Deadline: 30 days before the election
