Pew Survey: 71 Percent of Latinos Support Voter ID

The Pew Hispanic Center has found that as many as 71 percent of Latino registered voters support voter ID laws, which this year will be enforced for the first time in 11 states. Among all registered voters, the ID law, which requires voters to show photo identification in order to cast a ballot, is supported by 77 percent.

With fewer than 40 days to go before the 2012 election, access to the voting booth could determine the outcome on Nov. 6. It ought to be simple: If you're an American citizen eligible to vote and can prove it with identification, you should be allowed to cast a ballot. If you can't, you shouldn't.
